Saturday night we attended a fabulous Guy Fawkes bonfire and fireworks display at Forde Abbey. It is a beautiful Tudor house near here. You might remember earlier in the blog we visited the Abbey for a fair on the hottest day in UK history. The atmosphere was brilliant but my toes froze. Rain held off though. It had poured all day but the moon and stars made an appearance shortly before lift-off.
It was very cold but we were rugged up as you can see. Jim even had his thermals on.
Here you can still buy huge fireworks in the supermarket much to our surprise. Probably not a great idea although we both loved cracker night when we were kids.
Do you remember your Mum dividing up the squibs, penny bungers etc and doling them out on Guy Fawkes Day? Not to mention the weeks spent building the bonfire and topping it with a Guy. Love to hear your stories.
Happy Guy Fawkes Day and we hope you had a win on the Cup.
Jim and Frankie xx
(PS. There is a video of the fireworks posted on my Facebook.)
Love the Beanies!! Looks cold…..!
