From Cashel to Rosslare

Through the misty mountains to Llanberis, Snowdonia

Llanberis Pass
The Llanberis Pass in Snowdonia carries the main road from the south-east to Llanberis, over Pen-y-Pass, between the mountain ranges of Glyderau and Snowdon. Perhaps not as amazing as Gotthard Pass in Switzerland but certainly photo-worthy.

Llanberis Lake
Stretching our legs around Llanberis Lake after a long drive. The dog has nothing to do with anything – he was just very impressive watching us through our BnB window.
The Snowdon Mountain Railway is a narrow gauge rack and pinion mountain railway in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. It is a tourist railway that travels for 4.7 miles from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales.
It was extremely difficult to choose shots that represent the beauty and majesty of Snowdonia. From the sunny lower slopes to the peak, totally shrouded in fog, it was an amazing journey on our little train. The next day the train was cancelled due to high winds so we felt especially lucky.
Next stop the Cotswolds with its interesting village names. We were particularly taken with Upper and Lower Slaughter. Hopefully that will be posted tomorrow before we go to Scotland on Tuesday.
Sleep well or have a good day depending where you are! It’s bed for me now.
Cheers,
Frankie and Jim
