Nightingale Farm on a cold and frosty morning

Good morning,

Here is a list of places to visit mostly gleaned  from Escape to the Country,  (hitherto known as E2C ) over the past months. I’m marking in red as we visit. No doubt there are many other amazing places for us to see especially in the south and south west of England.

Let us know your personal favourites in the UK and they will be ON THE LIST.  Likewise, if you have a special place you would like to visit tell us where andIT’S ON THE LIST!”  (Does anyone but me remember The Rich List?) 2. I must be doing something wrong, but when I try to leave a comment on blog it doesn’t appear. So here is my 5 cents worth! Cornwall: If you like Doc Martin Show then Port Isaac is a must. Lanhydroch House – loved it Lost Gardens of Heligan.everyone raved about here but we missed it due to rain. Rick Steins empire at Padstow- I would suggest arriving quite early as the buses seem to arrive at 10.30 to 11! Ditto re times for Eden Project!! Fowey is nice- harbour town, can take boats for trips to other villages. You probably already know or have been to these before, so I’m sorry if that is so. You asked for suggestions 😀 But my suggestion for Wiltshire is Stourheadhttps://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/stourhead 3miles north of Mere. I would go back in a heartbeat. It is even possible to stay there. We arrived early, and enjoyed the beauty and peace, Palladian mansion, breathtaking gardens.etc and the best ploughmans lunch ever under trees in the courtyard. 3. If you have time in Cornwall have a look at Mevagissey? My Luly relatives set sail for Australia from there in the 1850’s. Besides maybe having a couple of Luly’s still there, it looks like a pretty seaport according to the photos on Instagram.
