I had planned to write something about the lovely day we had visiting some ancient sites nearby today. Feeling much too sad to do so as we watch the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral burning to the ground in front of us on evening TV. It is utterly devastating.
The news is a little better this morning with some of the art and artifacts having apparently been rescued. The drone footage showing the fire from above shows the extent of the fire though. We had been talking about spending a few days in Paris and revisiting Notre Dame. Jim remembered how magnificent it was from a boat on the Seine.
